I got Muffin, a buff Polish chicken, to add some pizzazz to the flock. Here is Muffin's backstory that showcases her adventurous spirit and unique personality:

When Muffin was just 4 months old, she didn’t come home one night, leaving us puzzled and worried. We searched high and low, combing through every nook and cranny of our property, calling her name and hoping to hear her familiar clucks in response. For a full 3 days, we scoured the area, checking under bushes, inside barns, and even asking neighbors if they had seen our beloved chicken. Each passing day without her felt like an eternity, and we began to fear the worst. Just when we were starting to lose hope, a remarkable turn of events occurred. A week later, while we were working cattle in the far back pasture, something caught our eye. Amidst the tall grass, a small head emerged, bobbing up and down in a way that was both curious and endearing. As we drew closer, our hearts leapt with joy—it was Muffin! This little bird had somehow survived a week in the wild, navigating the challenges of nature all on her own, and she had returned to us, seemingly unscathed.

(The photo is when we found her)

Muffin has a very spastic personality, which makes her a lively addition to our flock. Her movements are often quick and erratic, as if she is constantly on high alert, ready to spring into action at a moment’s notice. She doesn’t particularly like to be held, often squirming and flapping her wings in protest when we try to cuddle her. Despite her aversion to being handled, she has certainly earned a special place in our hearts. Her resilience and spirited nature remind us of the beauty of life and the unexpected adventures that come with caring for animals. Muffin has become a cherished member of our family, and her antics never fail to bring a smile to our faces. Whether she’s darting around the yard or exploring new corners of the coop, she adds a unique flair to our daily lives, making every moment with her a delightful experience.
